Indian Summer
Judy and Bradley Niemeyer designed the foundation papers, template layout sheets, cutting techniques and paper piecing instructions used to assemble the Indian Summer 2023. The pattern was designed using papers from the Indian Summer pattern, but cutting instructions have been updated to take advantage of 2-1/2” strips. A border has been added to this that will square it up to 68 inches as well. Once there, it can be turned on point and any variety of borders can be added to expand it to a queen or king. You can also expand this design simply by making more blocks. If you choose this expansion option, you will not be able to use the striped border.
There are many ways to expand your Quiltworx designs into larger sizes with compatible border packages. If listed, you should purchase the Introduction Booklet for the size quilt you want. Then, you should select expansion borders of your choice. The following information explains ways to expand your quilt.
- To expand the 68″ to a 99″ Queen, purchase one of the 242D borders
- To expand the 68″ to a 118″ King, purchase one of the 281D borders to get you to 80″, and then purchase a 277H King On-Point border to achieve 118″.
- To expand your quilt to 103″ square by making extra blocks, you will need: (1) Pattern, (1) set of Indian Summer 2023 Replacement Papers, and (2) sets of Maple Leaf Flurries Replacement Papers
