Shipping & Returns

SHIPPING

In stock orders (orders without pre-orders) are typically shipped within 5 days.

Shipping labels are printed with the address you enter when you place your order. Orders returned to us for an incorrect address will be assessed an additional postage fee so that we can re-ship your order to the correct location.

At Thread Alchemy we try to keep shipping costs down to a minimum. Our shipping charges are for shipping & handling, meaning not only will you be charged for the actual cost of shipping your order, but for the other costs associated with shipping your order. These costs include but are not limited to: postage fees, envelopes, boxes, packing materials, tape, labels, equipment necessary for processing your orders (scales, software, dedicated printers etc.), labor to process and package your order. These are just some of the costs directly associated with shipping your orders in a timely and cost-effective manner. ++ PREORDER POLICY

Thread Alchemy will offer preorders on our upcoming collections.  Placing a preorder means you are reserving fabric by paying for a listing up-front, before Thread Alchemy receives this fabric in hand.  Since Thread Alchemy does not have the fabric in hand at the time of the preorder, please understand that we will ship immediately upon receiving preorder fabrics.  The estimated date of arrival is clearly noted in each preorder listing.  Sometimes a manufacturer can experience delays or mis-shipments, and these situations are outside of our control.  If for any reason there is an issue with your preorder we will contact you immediately to make you aware of the situation, and proceed to find a reasonable solution.  Please know that all preorder sales are final.  Preorder sales cannot be canceled, altered, or traded. We appreciate your understanding. 

Important note about preorders: Orders that contain BOTH in stock items and pre-order items will be held and shipped together once ALL pre-order items have arrived. If you have in stock items that you need sooner, please place separate orders.  

 

LOCAL AREA RESIDENTS:

Please note that we are an online store and in general are not open to the public.

For those who live near Centennial, Colorado, we do offer pick-up service. Please choose this option at check out, this will add free local pickup to your cart.  We will notify you when your order is ready!

Otherwise, please call for an appointment.

 

SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES:

All U.S. orders of $100 or more qualify for Free Standard Shipping*

*free shipping is not available for oversized items, which can include batting.

*Subscription services, Block of the Month programs, and Quilting Services do not qualify for free shipping.

We use USPS Priority Mail, FedEx, and UPS - all include delivery confirmation.

Requesting multiple shipments from one order will likely require additional shipping fees.  We will invoice you for the additional postage.

Once your package has been given to UPS/USPS, we take no responsibility for lost or damaged items.

 

Our USA shipping prices are based on the following guidelines:

SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES:

We love to ship internationally!

All prices are in USD. International packages are shipped via USPS First Class International or Priority Mail. We are aware that some international customers are charged customs, duties and taxes. This is beyond our control and we suggest that you research your country's policies. We understand that packages can be delayed going through customs, so we do our best to see that all rules are followed and your packages arrive at your doorstep as swiftly as possible.

 

International tracking numbers are available in most destination countries for all methods of shipment. Due to the fact that USPS packages leave the USPS system once they arrive in the destination county, we cannot be held responsible for undelivered international packages.

 

Please note that bulky items such as flannel, jelly rolls, and boxed quilt kits will require additional postage due to their size/shape. We will contact you if we cannot fit your item(s) in the intended packaging.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES:

All sales are final unless an incorrect item was shipped. We make every effort to be accurate. If there is a problem with your order such as wrong item sent or a flaw in your fabric, please contact us within 21 days by email (info@threadalchemy.studio). If the fault is ours, we'll make it right. Fabrics which are cut, washed, altered, or contain an odor are not eligible for a refund or exchange. Once your package has been given to UPS/USPS, we take no responsibility for lost or damaged items.

Due to the nature of custom cut orders, we do not typically accept fabric returns unless there is a flaw or error on your order. Any approved returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. (Restocking fee does not apply if there is a flaw or if we made an error on your order). Return shipping will be at the expense of the buyer. All returned goods require a copy of the receipt and preauthorization. Sale fabric and gift certificates are non-refundable. We are unable to accept returns on patterns & books due to copyright laws.

 

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:

As a general rule, we do not offer cancellations. This particularly applies to PREORDER items as we order those fabrics based on the pre-sales of those fabrics. Preorders - All preorders are non-refundable and non-cancellable. Gift cards are non-refundable at any time.

Cancelled fabric orders that have not yet shipped but have already been custom cut will be charged a 20% re-stocking fee (minimum $5.00).

Refunds are not provided, funds may be applied to in store credit only.

We are unable to refund previously placed orders for new sale prices, regardless of whether we have shipped your order or not.

 

Block of the Month & Subscriptions

When you register for our clubs or block-of-the-month quilt programs, you are registering for the entire program. We will abide by this policy and prepare a kit for you each month with the understanding that you will remain in the program for the duration.

 

REGISTRATION

Each program has a non-refundable Registration Fee. In addition to covering the initial material cost, the registration fee also tells us that you are invested in the program. It also allows us to offer you the quilt at a reasonable monthly fee without a large lump-sum payment at the end for borders, binding, etc.

If you are signing up for a Block of the Month and already have the book/pattern, let us know in the comments section of your order form. When possible, we can exclude the pattern and set up store credit for you. All pre-cut applique (or laser-cut) programs are excluded from this as we are required to include the pattern due to copyright laws.

 

Monthly Fee

Beginning the first month and for the duration of the program, you will be billed the amount stated in the details (and taxes when applicable). Unless otherwise stated, shipping and handling will be added to all orders. Unless other arrangements have been made, fees will be billed to the credit/debit card used to pay for the Registration Fee.

 

Billing

We bill out many Block of the Month Programs each month, so each program is scheduled at a designated time during the month. Once a program begins, it will be billed on or around the same time each month. If you are interested in knowing when you will be billed, please visit our BOM Calendar each month for the exact date.

 

Shipping & Handling (S&H) -

We will add S&H to each monthly shipment. S&H may vary throughout the program and is dependent on the size of that month's kit. Please know that we do our best to reduce shipping costs.

 

Please contact us immediately if your billing or shipping address changes. In the event that we are not notified of an address change and packages are returned, you will be charged for shipping to the new address.

 

CANCELLATION

Blocks of the Month, Club and Collection boxes are non-cancellable within 30 days of the start date or at anytime during the block of the month program. No refunds will be issued at any time.

If for any reason we are not able to charge your credit card, an email will be sent to you.  If your payment fails during the BOM, the portal will auto-retry your payment twice more, one day apart. Your kit will be held until payment is made. If your subscription fails due to non-payment, we can reinstate subscriptions after a $25 administration fee is applied to your account.
