What's New at Thread Alchemy, July 2023

It's July and that Means the State and County Fairs are here!!

Do you have a quilt ready to enter in the fair? Which county will you be entering? Do you know the judging criteria? Is it about perfection or having your friends stop by to see it?

There are so many factors involved in judging a quilt and it is more lenient at the county level but becomes more stringent if you want to enter State or a National/Juried Competition. Do you know what the Judges are looking for? Are you competitive? It is sure fun to get out and see what other people have been working on! I personally like the judging, so much I joined the Competition Committee at the Colorado Quilt Council.

I have been waiting so impatiently for these to arrive. WoW!! They are gorgeous. One pattern, Multiple seasonal colorways. Kitted by Anthology Batiks. Which is your favorite? ( I like them all, but favor lemonade) There will be a christmas version and some mats coming later in the year. Check them out. Its a great starter project for your Foundation Paper Piecing.

Victory Garden BOM by Wing & A Prayer

Another gorgeous project I have been dying to get my hands on. There is a shop kit, so if I can ever finish gettiing inventory into the website, I will have a sample. The fabric line is from Timeless Treasures. There is a matching wide back (60 inches, so only 1 seam for this 108 inch quilt) . It is guaranteed to be fun with those lovely dresden plates and gorgeous fabrics with their civil war reproduction vibe.
