New Projects for Spring, February 2023

Winter came...and it stayed

It continues to be wet this year and cold, and it makes it easy to stay inside and continue working on projects. A big one for me is a custom wedding quilt that will be delivered in April. It was a real stretch for me when I was told the bride's favorite colors were pink and orange. I was not sure if I could pull it off. Orders continue mostly for wideback fabrics and filling in the color selections of thread. Our stitching sister group has decided to tackle a Judy Neimeyer pattern and it is my first foray into paper piecing. I have to admit this will be a new addiction. In addition to 8-point stars I LOVE LOVE LOVE a Mariner's compass, and after seeing all these pretty points how can I resist doing this again and again.

Custom Wedding Quilt

After some serious meditation, I got this one planned and implemented. I mashed up a few pattern designs I had for the piecing and got this to 120 inch square king size. The quilting patterns are all from Methodist Hill Quilt Studio and the quilting was done with Glide Halloween. There are more pictures in the gallery.

Wideback Fabrics

Wideback fabrics continue to arrive frequently. My goal is to have a very large (maybe the largest) selection of widebacks available. That would mean at least 500...I'm not quite there yet but its a start.

New from Timeless Treasures-

Watermelon Party

I have this thing for Watermelon. Its a sickness really, but I saw this fabric line and just had to have it. There are so many cute summer projects I envision for this from Judy Neimeyer watermelon placements to a variety of runners and bags. What do you see?

Don't forget to check out the Kim Einmo Solid-ish fabrics to coordinate.
